Internet advertising network ADSmart debuted “Radio Honda,” the first of
the company’s new integrated Web sponsorships.
The deal marks the first of ADSmart’s new “Advertising Sponsored
Applications” (ASAs) designed to deliver higher brand impact by tightly
integrating advertisers with Web site content.
The Radio Honda ASA was developed by the Internet Underground Music Archive (IUMA) site
and ADSmart to maximize Honda’s sponsorship on IUMA. The Radio Honda player
features streaming audio from 900-plus bands available on IUMA. When this
application is running on a user desktop it will appear as the Honda logo on
the screen.
“ASAs like “Radio Honda” allow us to create a functionality for Web site
advertising,” said Neil Versen, Andover, MA-based ADSmart’s vice president of
sales and marketing. “Now sponsors on ADSmart sites have the ability to be an
actual application and provide real value to both the sites as well as the
users instead of being just wallpaper.”
The “Radio Honda” player is also designed to link to the IUMA site, which
will be cross-branded and cross-linked with the Honda site.
The ADSmart Network, a majority-owned subsidiary of CMG Information Services,
is comprised of more than 80 Web sites.
