[HONG KONG] AdForce Asia will supply AdForce narrowband ad serving technology to Pacific Century CyberWorks advertising joint venture AdSociety.
AdSociety will use AdForce’s technology exclusively, said Mark Brown, president of AdSociety.
Neither party would disclose the deal’s estimated value, but AdSociety co-founder and chief executive officer said, “This partnership does not involved up-front capital investment.”
AdSociety will pay an undisclosed fee per ad to AdForce, Wong said.
Despite AdSociety’s positioning as a broadband advertising network, AdForce’s technology will be used only to serve narrowband ads, Brown said. Broadband advertising would be served by PCCW, he said.
AdSociety becomes the second PCCW company to sign a deal with a CMGI ad firm. In early October, PCCW’s Network of the World announced it will distribute Engage’s Profile Server and Ad Manager throughout Asia.
Massachusetts-based CMGI, which owns over three percent of PCCW, has balked at extending its relationship with PCCW directly, although its subsidiary companies have moved ahead with their partnerships.
