Be Free Forms Strategic Alliance With Trellix

Marlborough, MA-based affiliate marketing company Be Free Inc. established a strategic
agreement with Waltham, MA-based Trellix Corp., a developer of Web site
building software for ordinary Internet users.

The companies said they will work together to enable small businesses and
consumers to build and publish their own Web sites with Trellix Web and
incorporate merchant affiliate links into the sites.

This makes it feasible for a broad audience of non-technical Web site
creators to apply to multiple merchant-affiliate programs through Be Free’s
FastApp, creating a revenue-generating resource for the Web sites, the
companies said. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

Be Free’s merchant clients establish online storefronts on affiliates’ Web
sites, marketing specific merchandise presented in context. Affiliates earn
commissions for products and services sold through their Web sites.

Trellix Web is a Windows application that enables people to quickly build,
publish and update Web sites without having to learn HTML or other publishing
technologies, and without being restricted to a few pages or a few pre-set
designs.

“Small businesses and consumers want to have great web sites, but for many
it’s a mystery how to create a Web site that works like ones they’ve seen,”
said Don Bulens, president and CEO of Trellix. “We’re trying to help people
understand important capabilities such as affiliate links, and then to make
it a no-brainer to use them.”

“Be Free and Trellix are making the Web accessible to everyday consumers and
profitable for small business owners,” said Tom Gerace, executive vice president and co-founder of Be Free.
