BIG BANG Media named Jay Cole as executive vice president of marketing.
Cole resigned from Petersen Publishing Co. late last year where he served as vice president of Petersen’s youth division, responsible for over $40 million in revenue and assisting with the Petersen IPO in 1997. He had been doing consulting for BIG BANG most recently.
“BIG BANG is undergoing tremendous growth,” said Paul Angles, BIG BANG CEO. “The corporation has needed a highly talented, experienced marketing professional to oversee advertising sales, research, licensing of technology, development of strategic alliances and data base expansion. Jay is the perfect
choice.”
“BIG BANG represents the future of marketing in the new millennium,” said Cole in a statement. “The precise targeting that the BIG BANG model represents permits advertisers to capitalize on the radical changes that businesses are undergoing today. Mass customization, consumer-driven relationships and
interactive dialog place BIG BANG in the forefront of new age marketing trends.”
Prior to Petersen, he was CEO and sole owner of Mammoth Publishing & Advertising Corp. (MPA) for 12 years, publishing weekly newspapers and magazines. MPA also owned an ad agency and printing company in Northern California. When MPA sold to the Santa Monica Outlook (now Copley), Cole joined Petersen Publishing as publisher of their youth magazines.
BIG BANG is a network of members and Web sites based around a high-performance, patent-pending Internet marketing system. By precisely targeting audiences, rigorously testing variables, and offering response incentives, marketers can use BIG BANG to create a detailed profile of their most
responsive audiences, the company says.
