Network services provider Digital Island Inc. said it has added
geographic intelligence features to its E-Network Services, allowing
businesses to deploy locally
relevant online advertising and sales initiatives worldwide.
Digital Island said its patent-pending TraceWare technology gives Web-based
marketers an advantage by enabling global delivery of the right content, to
the right customer, at the right time.
TraceWare is an Internet atlas that detects with 96 percent accuracy what
country an end user is in and provides Web applications with the geographic
intelligence to conduct
business with customers appropriate to their country and culture, the company
said.
Digital River Inc., a provider of
e-commerce outsourcing, has already integrated TraceWare into its proprietary
fraud-detection system for purchases of digital products such as music,
videos and software.
“TraceWare can quickly and easily be integrated with Web applications to
ensure that customers are presented with relevant advertising and that buyers
only see locally available products and services,” said Ruann F. Ernst, president and CEO of
Digital Island.
“As part of a transaction-processing platform, TraceWare
enables fraud detection and currency and tax conversion. Because of
TraceWare, companies can for the first time make their global initiatives
locally relevant without having to deploy multiple geographically specific
Web sites.”
TraceWare pricing starts at $25,000. Digital Island has regional data centers
in New York, Santa Clara, CA, Honolulu, London, and Hong Kong, connecting
directly into 21 countries.
