eCoupons Strikes B2C, B2B Deals with SuperMarkets Online, BizLand.com

Direct marketer and promotional company eCoupons will be providing its services to the online division of Catalina Marketing Corp. and BizLand.com through terms of an agreement announced Wednesday.

Through the partnership, the ValuPage consumer coupon site, operated by Catalina’s SuperMarkets Online division, will offer geographically targeted eCoupons for local retail stores, services and restaurants.

In turn, eCoupons will integrate ValuPage’s offers into its own online coupon amalgamation Web site at www.eCoupons.com.

eCoupons’ site boasts more than 500,000 members, while ValuPage’s coupons can be redeemed at more than 12,500 supermarkets nationwide.

“This partnership allows us to provide our customers with additional savings opportunities, while helping to drive traffic to our site,” said Sue Klug, president and chief marketing officer of Catalina Marketing Solutions.

“Increased traffic will help drive sales for both our manufacturer and retailer clients and will offer more opportunities for specialized online promotions,” Klug said.

Through its deal with eCoupons, small business service amalgamator BizLand.com will offer its more than 750,000 members online design, distribution, tracking and optimization capabilities for creating eCoupon direct e-mail promotions.

“eCoupons will provide our members with the tools to develop creative, sophisticated marketing campaigns that will set them apart from their competition without the high costs typically associated with such initiatives,” said BizLand.com chief executive officer Steve Sydness.

Both deals serve to broaden eCoupon’s client roster in a broad, extremely competitive market, with mass e-mail services, rich media companies and online ad agencies all offering direct e-mail promotional services of one flavor or another.

“In just one year we’ve made significant inroads in the online promotional space with consumers, partners and advertisers alike,” said eCoupons president and chief executive officer Tom Ball.

“The partnerships we’ve announced with SuperMarkets Online and BizLand.com will help us to solidify this position while also providing their customers with a unique service.”
