Zinio Systems, a company that handles the conversion and distribution of print magazines in digital format, named Mike Perlis as chairman of the board. A managing partner at Softbank Capital Partners, Perlis has been an outside director since Zinio launched in March 2000.

Perlis has held top posts at TVSM, Playboy, GQ, and IDG. He was group publisher at Rodale Press, where he launched the Active Sports Network and co-founded Men’s Health Magazine. Prior to Softbank, Perlis was president and CEO of Ziff Davis Publishing.

“Mike has been a strong supporter of Zinio and advocate of digital publishing for years,” said Zinio President and CEO Mike Edelhart. “His deep industry ties in both consumer and B2B publishing will bring greater awareness of the space and its benefits for publishers and advertisers.”

24/7 Real Media promoted Jonathan Hsu to chief financial officer. Hsu has been with the firm since March 2000 as senior VP of ccrporate development and strategic planning, prior to which he was a senior associate with JP Morgan Securities, specializing in global mergers and acquisitions.

Former CFO Norman Blashka, in the position since September 1999, has stepped down to pursue other opportunities but will remain with the company on a consulting basis during the transition.

Ireland-based e-marketing automation firm Narragansett Technologies promoted Tony Frattaroli from VP of sales to general manager. Prior to joining Narragansett in 2002, Tony was a sales and marketing consultant for a non-profit organization in the U.S. and an education management provider, eSchool Solutions. He was also a co-founder and sales director at TTR Ireland.

Narragansett also named Rebecca Walsh as marketing manager.

EyeBlaster picked up a new director of marketing, Masha Geller, according to MarketingWonk, where she previously served as managing editor. Geller had been an editor with the interactive marketing blog for only a few months before her departure.
