New York City-based Free Forum Network signed marketing
agreements with ShopNow.com, Excite, Netscape, Starting Point, Geocities and
Planet Direct.
The Free Forum is a network of 17 highly targeted free offer sites published
by VentureDirect Worldwide. These sites
include: Be Your Own Boss, Catalogs, Education, Gardening, Generation X,
Health & Fitness, Home & Family, Industrial & Engineering, Living/Style,
Magazines, PC Shopper, Personal Finance, Sales & Marketing, Small Office/Home
Office, Sports & Hobbies, Travel and Women’s Viewpoint. Each Free Forum site
contains a variety of free promotional offers from various merchants.
Financial arrangements with the various sites were not disclosed.
Free Forum will be the exclusive free-offer store on ShopNow.com, offering free samples, trials,
software and information. Selected Free Forum offers will also be available
on The Excite Free Stuff Shop.
Free Forum will also be the exclusive free-offer store in Netscape’s bookmark
program, starting May 15. Netscape users will be able to visit The Free Forum
Network simply by clicking on bookmarks, selecting shopping and then
selecting Free Forum.
Finally, the Free Forum will be promoted on Starting Point, GeoCities and Planet Direct with advertising
packages that include banners, buttons and links.
