Pay-for-placement search engine GoTo.com
is taking a page from its own playbook, striking a deal to establish a
presence on business-to-business marketplace Onvia.com, gaining access to its three
million monthly visitors.

The deal calls for Onvia.com to make GoTo.com (GOTO)
a “featured seller” on the site’s request for quote service. GoTo.com
ill then offer the small businesses using the site opportunities to buy
placement on its search engine, giving them special treatment when they
come in through Onvia.com.

The agreement also places GoTo.com in a prominent spot on the Onvia.com
homepage, as well as in e-mails, content sponsorships, and banner ads on
Onvia.com partner sites.

The two companies will also jointly market their services, in efforts that
will include placement in direct mailings to Small Business Association
Members.

“GoTo’s premier seller status provides them with the opportunity to
showcase their search engine to Onvia.com’s targeted small business
market,” said Doug Kellam, vice president of marketing of Onvia.com.
