Icon Medialab Acquires Killakanu Agency

Icon Medialab office in
Hamburg, Germany acquired the communication agency killakanu GbR mbH.
Financial details were not disclosed.


The seven employees of the Cologne based agency will start to work for Icon
Medialab Germany in its headquarters in Hamburg.


killakanu was founded in 1996 by Beate Duesterwald, Joerg Heikhaus and John
Peplow. Clients include Volvo and Sony.


Icon Medialab offers interactive digital solutions for communication in the
areas of the Internet, intranets, extranets, and e-commerce. Icon Medialab
said it is obtaining extensive creativity and experience with the former team
of killakanu, particularly in the areas of graphic design and branding.


Icon also signed three new clients for its San Francisco office: Netscape
Communications Corp., Charles Schwab Worldwide, and Anderson & Lembke. Under
the guidance of Anderson & Lembke, Microsoft’s advertising agency, Icon San
Francisco built a microsite for Microsoft’s Site Builder network.


Icon Medialab employs approximately 260 professionals in Stockholm, London,
Madrid, Kuala Lumpur, Helsinki and Tampere (Finland), Copenhagen, San
Francisco, Brussels, and Hamburg.
