French companies plan to almost triple their spending on advertising on the
Internet this year to an estimated $10.8 million from $4 million in 1997,
French business daily La Tribune reported.
Four in five of the 50 companies surveyed by Benchmark Group, a research
company, were satisfied that advertising online was a worthwhile investment,
Bloomberg News quoted the report as
saying.
Some 200 French companies invested a total of 24 million francs on advertising
on the Internet last year, with an average budget of 150,000 francs, the
report said.
