San Diego-based streaming media company InterVU Inc. signed a non-exclusive
licensing agreement with Microsoft Corp. that will enable InterVU
to distribute and support NetShow 3.0, just released by Microsoft as a beta
version.
The agreement will result in InterVU upgrading its Network to fully support
NetShow 3.0, and providing its content and advertising customers with the
enhanced NetShow video quality. Financial terms were not disclosed.
InterVU said it will also make NetShow 3.0 available through its eyeQ
Multimedia Manager, that currently includes NetShow 2.0 and most other major
video/audio formats. EyeQ downloads, installs and updates multimedia software
at no charge to end-users.
Steve Klein, InterVU’s vice president for business development, said that
NetShow 3.0 “will enable our customers to take advantage of all of the high-
quality streaming video applications such as rich advertising, live broadcast
and on-demand video.”
Microsoft NetShow 3.0 is the streaming multimedia service of Windows NT that enables Internet providers and organizations to deliver audio and video at every bandwidth across the Internet or enterprise networks.
