InterVU Inc., a pioneer in video and rich media delivery over the Internet, signed a licensing agreement with RealNetworks to integrate the company’s streaming video (RealVideo) and audio (RealAudio) solutions into InterVU’s eyeQ Multimedia Manager.
InterVU said the agreement furthers its goal of supporting the widest range of Internet media players to make viewing rich media on the Internet a virtually transparent, user-friendly experience and to aid Web sites and online advertisers that wish to deploy video and multimedia.
RealMedia customers will also enjoy a highly scalable delivery solution as InterVU manages and delivers RealMedia-based content. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The InterVU Network is a configuration of distributed servers, called Delivery
Centers, located across nine Internet backbones to optimize video file
availability and performance for Web sites. The network delivers video and
rich media content in most major formats including Microsoft NetShow, VIVO,
VXtreme, MPEG, InstaVU, AVI, QuickTime, V-Banner, SGI’s Cosmo VRML Player,
Macromedia Director, Shockwave, & Flash, Live Picture, and most other
streaming Java applet solutions in addition to RealNetworks’ RealMedia
players.
InterVU’s eyeQ multimedia manager downloads and manages multimedia tools for end-user viewing. It can be downloaded for free at www.intervu.net/eyeq/.
