San Francisco-based banner network LinkExchange said it acquired
online commerce provider Merchant Planet.
Merchant Planet provides end-to-end commerce functionality that enables Web
sites to incorporate shopping cart technology, real-time credit card
authorization and sales processing and transaction capabilities into their
sites in about 15 minutes.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
“The LinkExchange brand is already trusted by over 250,000 Web site owners
that use LinkExchange products and services to promote and enhance their
online properties every day,” said Mark Bozzini, CEO of LinkExchange.
“Providing this audience with the tools they need to sell products and
services from their Web sites is a natural extension of our business and the
business of our customers.”
CyberCash and Cardservice International are strategic partners of Merchant
Planet and work together to reduce the cost and confusion of setting up an
online business, accepting
credit cards online and creating a seamless experience for the user. Merchant
Planet commerce technology works with any Web site anywhere on the Internet.
Users can retain their own Internet Service Provider.
In addition to offering online commerce capability to its own members,
LinkExchange said it plans to enable strategic partners to provide commerce
functionality to their customers.
