Marketwave Releases Hit List 4.0

Apr 16, 1998

Marketwave Corp. released version 4.0 of
the Hit List family of Web mining and traffic analysis products at the
Web.Builder San Francisco conference.

The upgraded products have a new architecture that improves integration in
enterprise-wide Internet, intranet, and extranet operations, the company said.

Version 4.0 features new programmability, improved performance, centralized
manageability and Oracle database support for better scalability, storage and
reporting speed, according to the company. Enhanced reporting capabilities
include Hit List’s DataLink technology that enables the discovery of
business correlations and trends by integrating and analyzing Web traffic
with traditional business data. Availability is scheduled for May.

“In designing this version we listened to what more than 35,000 Hit List
customers told us they wanted and we’ve made some significant advancements
to make this an even more flexible, enterprise-level application,” said
Steve Podradchik, CEO of Seattle-based Marketwave

New user-defined calculations and formatting allow multiple reporting
elements to be linked together with calculations. This feature enables a
customer to generate reports that show ROI (return on investment) in real
dollars, page visit ratios, and total bandwidth used versus allotted.

In addition, ISP or Web-hosting companies can use calculations with the
virtual server feature to create billing reports based on usage that Hit
List automatically generates and distributes via e-mail to each customer.

Marketwave said it is partnering with InfoFirst Inc., a strategic Internet
services company based in Princeton, NJ to offer training courses.

The Hit List product family is comprised of Hit List Live and Hit List
Enterprise for Web mining, Hit List Pro for marketing analysis and Hit List
Standard for overview analysis of traffic.
