NaviSite Acquires Servercast

Andover, MA-based NaviSite Internet Services, a provider of high-performance Internet outsourcing solutions, said it has acquired Servercast Communications, a developer and integrator of Internet applications.


NaviSite said the acquisition expands the range of its SiteHarbor high-end Web
hosting service to include ad serving, e-commerce, and content management
solutions. Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.


“The integration of NaviSite’s SiteHarbor Web hosting products and
Servercast’s state-of-the-art application expertise enables us to deliver the
most extensive hosting solutions in the industry,” said Bob Eisenberg,
president and CEO of NaviSite.


Servercast’s expertise in online advertising, electronic commerce, content
management, statistical collection, streaming media and Web site
personalization will enable NaviSite’s SiteHarbor customers to efficiently
outsource their Internet technology needs and focus on growing their core
business, the company said.


NaviSite and Servercast together have clients that include: Venture Direct’s
Ad-Venture Internet advertising network; Parable, which simplifies multimedia
authoring and distribution on the Web; and Spectrum Information Technologies,
creators of the FastLane Web Acceleration Service.


NaviSite and Servercast’s partnerships include Accrue, iCat, Solbright,
Microsoft, Accipiter and Engage Technologies. Servercast will operate under
the name NaviSite.


NaviSite is a wholly owned subsidiary of CMG Information Services.
