A steering committee for a new trade group with the working name Internet Direct Marketing Association met Aug. 12 in New York to chart its course.
The members of the group, meeting during the Jupiter Online Advertising conference, started to define the objectives of the association, which is intended to serve the needs of online promotion, e-mail and other direct marketing companies, according to an Advertising Age report. Principals were not identified.
A Web site is already up and running, but contains very little information as
yet. Committees are to address issues such as defining the industry, raising
awareness and organizing the trade group.
