Nicholson NY Hires Retailing, Marketing Veteran

Apr 8, 1998

Interactive agency Nicholson NY named Cris Popenoe as managing
director of its new Internet Retailing unit.

Popenoe brings to the agency more than 25 years experience in media
publishing, marketing and retail and catalog sales. She was most recently a
managing associate in Coopers & Lybrand Consulting’s media practice
developing e-commerce strategies with clients.

Among Popenoe’s launches are Yes! Books & Videos, an online sales
operation. She is a former CEO of Putnam New Media, a joint venture of
entertainment conglomerate MCA/Universal and publishing giant Berteslmann AG.

Best known for its interactive advertising campaigns and database-driven Web
sites, Nicholson NY said it will now provide high-end consumer product
manufacturers, retailers and catalogers with Internet business services
including feasibility analysis and planning, site development and launch,
and post-launch marketing and site maintenance.

“This is an area within e-commerce that no one company owns today,” said Tom
Nicholson, founder and CEO of Nicholson NY. “By creating a unit that focuses
on the merchant-to-customer segment alone, we’ll provide progressive
marketers with new and more efficient business solutions on the Internet.
