PowerAdz.com, a provider of
Internet
infrastructure services for newspapers, added more affiliates and now
counts
more than 800 online newspapers in the network.
New affiliates include the Press Republican in Plattsburgh NY,
which launched
its online yellow pages with PowerAdz YP Engine, and the Salt Lake
Tribune
and Deseret News in Salt Lake City, UT, which will use AdQuest
Super
Classifieds.
Using PowerAdz.com technology, newspapers in the network provide
aggregated
local classifieds, automotive, real estate, employment, auction, yellow
pages
and community content through a network of hundreds of local, co-branded
newspaper Web sites.
Enticed by the PowerAdz.com Million Dollar Grant, more than 30
newspapers
will launch Zwire!, a turnkey Internet solution to publish their
newspaper
online, the company said.
Zwire! combines editorial, classifieds, yellow pages, auction and
community
features without HTML programming. Participating newspapers include
Mid/South
Publishing, which publishes multiple Tennessee newspapers, 15 newspapers
from
Sound Publishing in Washington, all Journal Transcript papers in New
England,
and the Oakland Press in Pontiac Michigan, circulation 85,000.
The grants will provide the first 250 participating newspapers $3,000 to
$5,000 each to underwrite in-print promotion of their local Web sites.
“Our
affiliates see their Web sites enhanced by our products and content, and
find
that their visitors, who are rewarded with more relevant, local
information,
stay on their sites for longer periods of time,” said Lamonte Rhoades,
PowerAdz’ vice-president for channel alliances. “That provides
compelling new
opportunities for local advertisers and gives the newspaper a chance to
create significant new online revenue.”
Founded in 1996, PowerAdz.com markets its services to newspaper
companies
under the AdQuest, CarCast, AuctionHill, ThinkHomes, CareerGold and
Zwire!
Internet brands.
