Reel.com Launches Sundance Film Festival Sweeps

Dec 18, 1998

Reel.com said it will be a
sponsor of the 1999 Sundance Film Festival and launched a sweepstakes promotion
to send a winner to the festival.

In addition, the company is celebrating the annual festival of independent
films with a special section on the site that features past Sundance Film
Festival award winners.

“Reel.com’s support of the Sundance Film Festival reflects the company’s strong interest
in promoting and distributing the films of smaller, more experimental filmmakers,” said Julie Wainwright, chief executive officer of Reel.com. Spending was not disclosed.

To be eligible to win the sweepstakes, customers must complete the official
online entry form at the Reel.com store between Dec. 14, and Dec. 28, 1998.
The winner will be flown with a guest to Park City, UT on Jan. 20 for six days
and five nights of complimentary hotel accommodations, including use of a
rental car. The prize also includes one VIP package to the 1999 Sundance Film
Festival and two tickets to the
Opening Night Gala and Reel.com’s post-premiere party.

The Sundance Film Festival is presented by the Sundance Institute, founded in
1981 by Robert Redford as a means of promoting the development of independent
voices in the arts..
