Roger Sippl Joins Andromedia Board Of Directors

Andromedia Inc. in San Francisco, a supplier of real-time Web site activity analysis solutions, named Roger Sippl, founder of Visigenic Software, The Vantive Corp., and Informix Software, to its board of directors.

Andromedia, which recently announced it raised an additional $10 million in equity financing, said Sippl brings vast operations experience to the company’s
board.

“Few software entrepreneurs are as accomplished as Roger Sippl,” said Kent
Godfey, Andromedia president and CEO. “He is deeply technical with a brilliant
business acumen who has founded and run some of today’s most successful
software companies. His extraordinary operations experience in guiding fast-
growing companies like ours in emerging markets, three of which he’s taken
public, will be a tremendous asset . . .”

Sippl has more than 20 years of senior operations, technology and chief
executive experience working with leading software companies.

He is presently a principal in Sippl Macdonald Ventures, a venture capital
firm that recently participated in Andromedia’s latest round of equity
financing.

In 1993, Sippl founded Visigenic Software, which he took public in 1996 and
sold it to Borland (now Inprise) in March of 1998. In 1990, along with Steve
Goldworthy, Sippl co-founded Vantive Corp. of Mountain View, CA, a customer
service automation software vendor. In 1980, Sippl founded Informix Software
Inc., the database company.
