Safeguard Scientifics Invests in US Interactive

US Interactive said that Safeguard Scientifics Inc., a strategic
information systems company, acquired a 15% equity stake in the company.

Financial were not disclosed, however.

US Interactive said it provides its E-Roadmap development plan through its proprietary
IVL Methodology to ensure the delivery of superior interactive services for
advertising and e-commerce.

In the last five years, US Interactive grew to 200 employees and offices
in Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Washington, D.C. Two
Safeguard Scientifics associated entities, Internet Capital Group and TL
Ventures, were early investors when US Interactive was getting off the ground,
the company said.

“We are very excited to have Safeguard as an investor in US Interactive,” said Eric Pulier, US Interactive’s chairman and chief technology officer. “Their
investment will allow us to pursue several key growth initiatives during the
coming year. Safeguard is a proven leader in working with growing technology
companies, and their equity stake serves to further validate our market
position and opportunity.”

Pete Musser, Wayne, PA-based Safeguard’s chairman and CEO, said, “This
investment is an example of the value we are able to provide our shareholders
through our investing activities with our associated entities, TL Ventures and
Internet Capital Group, which invested in USI in earlier rounds. This is a
wonderful opportunity for us to invest in a company that is taking full
advantage of the convergence of technology and design in the delivery of
robust e-commerce solutions.”

US Interactive’s electronic enterprise solutions are designed to link an
organization’s strategic business objectives with advanced Internet
technologies and innovative marketing practices..
