Directory company Switchboard Inc.has been selected by International Newspaper Network (I.N.N.)
to provide directory and Internet services to augment the company’s online
publishing offerings in small and mid-sized markets.
I.N.N.’s “regional print shop in cyberspace” offers technology to help more
than 350 newspapers publish news and information on the Internet. Clients
include dailies owned by Liberty, CNHI, Donrey, American, Brehm, McNaughton,
Rust, Lee, Paxton and other groups and independents.
I.N.N. will offer co-branded versions of Switchboards Yellow Pages, White
Pages and e-mail searching capabilities to all affiliate newspaper sites.
Switchboard merchant offerings, including Web site construction, hosting, and
Yellow Pages display advertising, will be offered to all advertisers in the
I.N.N. affiliate markets. Merchant advertisements will receive exposure not
only in the I.N.N. co-branded Yellow Pages, but across the entire Switchboard
network.
“We want our publishing partners to have flexible advertising options as they
migrate and grow their online advertising revenue streams,” said Marc Wilson,
general manager of International Newspaper Network.
Switchboard is a majority-held subsidiary of Banyan Worldwide with a minority
ownership stake held by CBS Corp.
