theglobe.com and NetMarket Form Online Ad Alliance

Online community operation theglobe.com entered an advertising alliance with NetMarket, a membership-based shopping site.


theglobe.com will promote NetMarket to members of its site through special links, e-mail opt-in opportunities, banners, buttons and contextual advertisements. Financial terms were not disclosed.


Members of theglobe.com will have a direct link to NetMarket, where members can purchase over one million brand-name products and services in consumer electronics, kitchen supplies, computer hardware and software, books, compact discs and groceries, the companies said.


theglobe.com members can join NetMarket and receive 10% to 50% savings off manufacturer’s suggested list prices, the firms added. Other NetMarket member perks include cash back on purchases, guaranteed lowest prices and automatic two-year extended warranties on products.


Members of theglobe.com will also be advised of NetMarket’s special offerings through sponsored e-mail messages as well as an opt-in registration program where members can choose to receive additional information about particular products and services.
