USWeb/CKS Acquires Modern Business Technology

Santa Clara, CA-based USWeb/CKS acquired Modern Business
Technology (MBT), a provider of IT consulting services based in Schaumburg,
IL. Financial terms were not disclosed.

“With a focus on mission-critical Internet and e-commerce solutions, MBT adds
to our Internet expertise and strengthens our presence in the Central
Region,” said Robert Shaw, CEO of USWeb/CKS. “MBT brings a strong regional
reputation to the table and embodies our company mission to help transform
businesses in the digital economy.”

MBT president and co-founder Scott Spear will join the USWeb/CKS regional
management team as a managing partner. Since founding MBT, he has managed the
overall operations of the company including the delivery of consulting
services, sales and marketing, finance, recruiting and employee relations.
Prior to that, he worked for Andersen Consulting in Chicago.

MBT clients include AON Insurance, Armour Swift-Eckrich, Cole Parmer, Hewitt
Associates LLC, McDonalds Corp., Options Clearing Corp., Sherwin Williams,
Success Lab and Zurich US.
