Your Virtual Talking Head on a Phone Screen

Pulse Entertainment, developer of character-driven wireless applications, signed a deal with mobile developer Image Semantics to support the launch of virtual talking humans on cell phone screens in the U.K. Under the deal, Image Semantics will use Pulse’s Mobile Veepers technology to create character-driven wireless applications and services for British consumers.

Among the first U.K. deployments to use it will be a “talking e-card” promotion that will support wireless carrier 02’s “Mobile Model Search.”


Astrology Meets Love in Text Campaign

U.K. glossy girl’s magazine Bliss is launching a campaign for its “text club” members that lets readers assess their crushes astrologically. The service, supported by mobile marketing firm Flytxt, lets participants IM their star sign along with the sign of a boy they fancy and receive instant feedback on what the future may hold for the relationship.


Fishing Mag Sponsors SMS Tide Reports

Salt Water Sportsman Magazine is sponsoring a national tide report called “Salt Water Tides” on Verizon Wireless. The service — available via wireless download to Verizon users with “Get It Now”-enabled phones — provides tide reports, graphs and personalized alerts.

“Salt Water Sportsman is pleased to sponsor this product, which will give anglers the latest technology to improve their success,” said Rip Cunningham, editor-in-chief.
