Cisco Debuts Switches for Small Biz Networks

Cisco is building out its small business technology portfolio this week, taking the wraps off of the 300 series of managed switches, a Linux-based product that promises minimal training and setup.

The product line offers a number of new features, including a browser toolbar to discover switches on the small business network, as well as support for IPv6. Small Business Computing takes a look.


Over the course of the last two years, networking vendor Cisco has been upgrading and expanding its small business networking offerings. That effort continues this week with the launch of a new lineup of managed switches and updated VoIP phones specifically geared for small business networking environments.

Among the new products is the Cisco 300 series of managed switches, which expand Cisco’s small business switching portfolio beyond the unmanaged Cisco 100 series, which debuted earlier this year.
