Internet Security Systems’ Tokyo-based subsidiary, Internet Security Systems K.K., has entered into an alliance with Hong Kong’s PCCW Limitedto jointly offer PCCW Managed Security Services (MSS) to protect Hong Kong’s critical infrastructure and business customers, the two companies announced Wednesday.

The ever-increasing threat of security attacks on IT systems and networks was highlighted on Tuesday after terrorists set off a car bomb that killed more than a dozen people at the JW Marriott Hotel in Indonesia’s capital city of Jakarta.

Through PCCW Managed Security Services, PCCW will offer Internet Security Systems’ Managed Firewall and Managed Intrusion Protection Service, including 24/7 technical phone support, round-the-clock security monitoring and access to the latest security news from ISS’ security intelligence research and development organization.

“Monitoring and managing network security 24/7 is essential for businesses today as more and more critical data is moved online and the online threats continue to escalate,” said Tom Noonan, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Atlanta-based Internet Security Systems.

The MSS protection offerings from PCCW and Internet Security Systems are available now.
