Polycom is celebrating a major new partnership with Microsoft, one that it says should give it a greater foothold in the enterprise, SMB and government markets.
Building on Microsoft’s forthcoming Communications Server 14, Polycom is planning to bring to market integrated unified communications solutions over the next year and a half that marry Polycom’s conferencing technology with Microsoft’s UC platform. The new offerings will be co-branded, with both companies investing in sales and marketing. Enterprise Networking Planet has the details.
Under a multi-year strategic deal, unified communications (UC) vendor Polycom will deliver solutions based on Microsoft’s Communications Server 14, along with a joint go-to-market plan, the companies said in a joint statement Monday.
The agreement calls for Polycom (NASDAQ: PLCM) to ship “integrated end-to-end” UC solutions on a global basis that provide compatibility with the next version of Microsoft’s (NASDAQ: MSFT) UC platform.
