Wificom Technologies is partnering with Colubris Networks to offer integrated Wi-Fi access devices and back-end services for hotspot operators.

The offering combines merges Colubris Networks’ Wi-Fi access devices with Wificoms SAB Server, a billing and service management system for broadband Internet service providers.

“This partnership provides our customers with a complete solution based on the marketplaces best products,” said Patrick Deroy, Colubris’ director of overseas sales.

Waltham, Mass.-based Colubris is privately held and venture-backed. Colubris products help protect data flowing between hotspots (define) and Wi-Fi enabled laptops, PDAs and mobile phones. (Colubris will exhibit at booth 918 of 802.11 Planet & Expo in Boston this month.)

Wificom, which is based in Helsinki, Finland, and Colubris Networks will distribute the offering through existing resellers.

Sofia Flood, sales and marketing director at Wificom, said Colubris Networks, like Wificom, has a strong presence in European and Asian markets.

“Wificom’s strategy is to provide systems to centrallymanage (hotspot) services built by the best access points and controllers and Colubris Networks is an idealpartner supporting this strategy,” she said.
