Microsoft Offers Free Security for SMBs

There may be no free lunches, but Microsoft will soon make security free for small businesses. Sure, you can download Security Essentials today and install it on as many PCs as you want, but legally it’s a no-no.

Starting next month, however, Microsoft is changing its the end user licensing agreement to allow you to legally download the software onto individually managed business PCs, according to Microsoft. The free ride applies to up to 10 PCs.



Small businesses and other organizations are getting a small, but welcome, favor from Microsoft in the area of system security

for free.

In early October, Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) will begin allowing users to download and install its Security Essentials anti-malware and security software on up to 10 PCs, the company said Wednesday.
