Privacy Concerns Weigh on Cloud Adoption

  • For all the buzz, in the world of enterprise computing, not every executive has caught cloud fever.

    According to a new survey conducted by the IT Governance Institute, C-level executives expressed significant concerns about moving their systems to the cloud.

    At the same time, a majority (60 percent) say that they are looking to the cloud for non-mission-critical applications, while 40 percent are going a step farther and deploying cloud-based mission-critical technologies.

    But many of the respondents look cautiously to the new model of computing, with nearly half saying that their deployments are slowed by privacy concerns, while significant minorities worry about security, reliability and the expenses sunk in legacy systems.
