Insurance rating and information source A.M. Best Co. said customers can now
purchase Best’s Ratings, Best’s Insurance News and individual company reports
directly from its Internet site.

Visitors to the company’s site can click on BestLine to purchase information that previously was available only by phone. A.M. Best’s site supports CyberCash.

Illya D’Addezio, assistant vice president of information services at the
Oldwick, NJ-based company, said “We’ve had good feedback about purchasing the
BestLine products through e-commerce since we started offering it in January.
Our customers appreciate the ease of purchasing products through the Web site, as well as the speed with which they receive their information.”

An added benefit to using BestLine on the Web site is that it doesn’t have the initial $2.95 charge for the telephone-based service.

The site also has a variety of free information, including the 1998 Best’s
Directory of Recommended Insurance Attorneys and Adjustors, more than 5,300
law firms, 2,500 adjusting offices and experts in 17 service categories. Also
available is the 1998 Best’s Safety Directory, which lists OSHA safety
standards and training articles.

News articles about current events and trends in the insurance industry can be found in the BestWeek and Best’s Review sections.
