ADP Takes Aim at Small Business Market Via AOL

The Emerging Business Services Division of
Automatic Data Processing Inc.signed a deal with America Online Inc. (NYSE:AOL) that will make
ADP’s solutions for small business owners available across AOL’s brands.

ADP provides payroll, benefits and human
resources administration services. Under the agreement, access to ADP’s suite
of solutions, which helps small businesses staff, manage, pay and retain
employees, will be made available across Netscape Netcenter, the AOL proprietary
service, AOL.com and CompuServe.

Financial arrangements were
not disclosed.

AOL said the properties involved in the deal collectively serve over nine
million small business site visitors and complement ADP’s small business
customer base of over
370,000 clients.

ADP said it will offer AOL property users an online needs assessment from
ADP’s virtual consultant, Solution Profiler, which also delivers real-time,
customized price quotes and provides a choice of user follow up options. In
addition, users will receive a special trial offer to test ADP’s solutions
and its payroll application, EasyPayNet.

ADP’s Emerging Business Services division provides small businesses with
Internet-based solutions that help small business owners staff, manage, pay
and retain quality employees.
