San Ramon, CA-based OnDisplay, a provider of solutions for
business portals, said it
has been selected by e-commerce vendors Ariba Inc. and Harbinger Corp. to provide content and
commerce exchange capabilities to industrial suppliers engaging in e-business.
These alliances will enable suppliers to continue leveraging their existing
technology and infrastructure investments while taking advantage of new
e-business capabilities provided by Ariba, Harbinger and OnDisplay, the
companies said. Financial details of the relationships were not disclosed.
“Industrial suppliers are faced with the challenge of electronically updating
and distributing catalog information in diverse formats and protocols to
customers, catalog providers and procurement portals” said Darrell Trimble,
vice president of marketing at OnDisplay. “With strategic alliances with
Ariba and Harbinger, OnDisplay can help suppliers seamlessly expedite dynamic
content exchange to its customers and trading partners.”
OnDisplay’s technology will enable Ariba clients to receive catalog
information from suppliers with speed and efficiency. Suppliers will receive
the e-business solutions to competitively sell products through the Ariba.com
Network, an Internet service that connects buyers to suppliers worldwide.
As part of this alliance, OnDisplay will integrate its CenterStage E-Business
solution into Ariba Operating Resource Management System Commerce XML.
Harbinger, a supplier of e-commerce software, will integrate CenterStage
E-Business Solutions with the Harbinger Knowbility solution, which improves
purchasing processes by organizing and enhancing electronic catalog data from
multiple suppliers.
By integrating this along with harbinger.net, Harbinger can offer suppliers
and buyers
alternative means of delivering, improving and accessing the data
needed for procurement applications; whether through online entry, XML, FTP
or EDI.
