CheckOut.Com, Talk City Sign E-Commerce Pact

CheckOut.com, a planned entertainment and
e-commerce Web destination, and community chat site operation Talk City signed an exclusive co-marketing
agreement.

CheckOut.com and Talk City will co-brand, co-market and co-produce online
community services for their entertainment fan-base. Specifically,
CheckOut.com will become the exclusive commerce provider in Talk City’s
music, movies ands games areas, offering a selection of entertainment
products including CDs, DVDs, video tapes, console and PC games and related
merchandise to Talk City’s users.

CheckOut.com and Talk City will also co-host regular live events, where
CheckOut.com will secure top artists and celebrities for exclusive chats at
CheckOut.com and Talk City’s music, movies and games destinations. In
addition, Talk City will provide chat and bulletin board services for
CheckOut.com’s network of destinations: CheckOutMusic.com,
CheckOutVideos.com, and CheckOutGames.com. Financial arrangements were not
disclosed.

“Talk City will provide CheckOut.com with a built-in audience of fans on day one and connect
them with users that have the same interests in the areas of music, movies
and games,” said Richard Wolpert, partner in charge of Internet and technology ventures
for CheckOut.com’s parent company, The Yucaipa Companies. “The agreement with Talk City further supports CheckOut.com’s
strong commitment to providing artists direct access with their fan-base.”

CheckOut’s launch is scheduled for this summer.

The Talk City network includes 20 topical categories, over 50 themed
communities, 50 co-branded partner communities and thousands of
user-generated communities.
