Electronic billing and payment company CheckFree said Countrywide Home Loans Inc., a national
residential mortgage company, signed on to offer its services to all of
Countrywide’s 2.4 million customers.
Using CheckFree (CKFR) E-Bills, an integrated electronic billing and payment
solution, Countrywide customers now can pay their mortgage and home equity
loan bills electronically.
Financial arrangements between the companies were
not disclosed.
Countrywide E-Bills are available at a number of CheckFree-supported Web
sites including Yahoo, U.S. Postal Service, WingspanBank.com and CheckFree
E-Bill Direct.
Once enrolled, Countrywide customers receive one final paper bill by mail and
then all future bills electronically. Customers can then view their bill on
demand, review current and outstanding account balances and access full bill
detail online.
Electronic payments made to Countrywide Home Loans will be processed by
CheckFree Genesis 2000, an integrated end-to-end electronic billing and
payment engine.
With Genesis 2000 and CheckFree’s browser-based customer care
tools, billers can view, track and report the status of billing and payment
events without transferring the call to
CheckFree.
