CyberSource Establishes Alliance With H-P Covision

CyberSource Corp. said it formed a strategic alliance with Hewlett-Packard Co. to deliver joint e-commerce solutions.

The solutions will incorporate CyberSource’s on-demand transaction processing,
secure digital distribution, fraud detection, export control and global rights
applications and services.

Integrated into the broader suite of HP’s Covision solutions, CyberSource’s on-
demand applications are designed to enable Internet merchants to outsource complex e-
commerce functionality and thus come to market sooner with their own products
and services, the company said.

“Covision, with its premier partners, is a progressive program demonstrating
just how proactive HP is in regards to the dynamic Internet marketplace,” said
Juan Herrera, director of sales at CyberSource. “We appreciate HP recognizing
the value that organizations like ours–companies that don’t espouse a one-size-fits-
all, cookie-cutter approach–can bring to the overall Internet commerce
equation.”

Covision is H-P’s partnership program of select companies working together to
create integrated solutions. Partners include distributors, value-added
resellers (VARs), corporate resellers, systems integrators, and Internet
service providers, the company stated.

“CyberSource’s value proposition is a perfect match
for what we are accomplishing with the Covision alliance program–maximizing
customer choice and flexibility through focused, customized solutions based on
the latest technologies and services,” said Greg Mihran, manager of Internet business development for HP’s Commercial Channels Organization.

CyberSource on-demand applications include GeoPay payment processing; IVS fraud screen; GlobalTax sales and VAT tax calculation; TerritoryManager distribution control; NOTIFY fulfillment messaging and
SmartCert digital fulfillment.
