Cymerc Launches Communications Equipment Market

Cymerc Exchange Inc. launched an online B2B exchange for
the purchase and sale of used brand-name communications equipment.

The company said the site initially will focus on the global market for used
voice and data communications equipment and later will leverage its business
model to other IT segments.

“We think there is a tremendous opportunity to create a single, central, and
highly efficient market for used communications equipment worldwide,” said
company founder and chief executive officer Mark Weidick.

“Our intent is to use our extensive
domain-specific experience to service this one segment better than anyone
else and then to leverage our success to other information technology (IT)
markets.”

Services available at the site include packing and shipping, certification,
warranty,
refurbishing, installation, and a full suite of financial services, with a
network of strategic third-party partners and back-end integration to both
partner and customer sites.

Cymerc Exchange was founded in August 1999 with $7 million in equity capital
from Mohr, Davidow Ventures and Trinity Ventures.
