EDS Debuts E.Procurement Marketplace

Electronic Data Systems Corp. (EDS) introduced
its E.Procurement Marketplace for clients who need to reduce the costs of
buying on the Web and don’t want to spend hard-won capital on systems to do
it.

EDS said it is differentiating its service by managing Internet procurement
processes for clients over a secure network that matches buyers and sellers
with the products and services they need, including everything from computer
supplies to industrial supplies and safety equipment.

EDS said it will implement its procurement vision using the TRADEX Commerce
Center platform from TRADEX Technologies, a provider of solutions for digital
marketplaces.

The EDS E.Procurement Marketplace is a full service Internet tool complete
with consulting, product management and ongoing hosting and management on the
Web. It will be managed from the EDS Service Management Center at the
corporation’s headquarters in Texas.

“Our online marketplace plays matchmatcher for Internet buyers and sellers,
and does it without the need for investment in specialized software or systems
and the risk that goes along with these investments,” said Brad Rucker,
leader of the E.solutions Internet Services practice.
