EMusic.com Inc. Thursday partnered with independent music distributor NAIL Distribution, adding an equity investment to sweeten the deal.
Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
Gene Hoffman, president and chief executive officer of EMusic.com, said the partnership creates an exciting opportunity to find synergies between online and offline retail.

position as a progressive voice in the music industry to help us forge exciting new alliances with both top labels and leading retailers.”
Mike Jones, chief executive officer of NAIL Distribution, added that the agreement would be good for the labels NAIL distributes because it gives NAIL a partner with a firm understanding of the nuances of downloadable music and a respect for the independent music scene.
