Business-to-business e-commerce solutions provider SPS Commerce said that Fingerhut Companies Inc. has contracted
to use its e-commerce services to automate transaction processing throughout
its entire supply chain.
Fingerhut’s supply chain is comprised of nearly 1,500 trading partners. The
value of the contract was not disclosed.
Fingerhut is a subsidiary of Federated Department Stores Inc. It sells a
broad range of products and services through catalogs, direct marketing,
telemarketing and the Internet.
Fingerhut said it has been a customer of SPS Commerce for some time, using
the company’s e-commerce translator software for automated transactions with
the top 10 percent of its vendor base.
Fingerhut said it realized substantial benefits
and is now expanding its electronic trading community to encompass the
remainder of its vendor base.
Fingerhut joins Sears Roebuck & Company, Kmart, Dayton Hudson, JoAnn Stores
and other retailers using SPS Commerce.
The SPS Commerce Trading Partner Enablement Program works with each
individual vendor’s capabilities and resources to achieve compliance with a
merchant. This method allows each vendor the freedom to retain their current
business processes, while enabling them to trade over the Internet.
