First Up With Chrome OS Netbook: Acer?

What’s next for Google’s Chrome OS? The operating system, targeted at lower-power, cloud-centric systems like netbooks, may be making its debut courtesy of No. 2 PC maker Acer.


According to a report, Acer may be moving forward with a netbook designed that will showcase the Google operating system, which should come as little surprise to industry watchers who have been observing the space closely. Hardware Central has the story.



With June rapidly approaching, companies are busily gearing up for the annual Computex show in Taipei, where all of the major and minor hardware vendors introduce new products that will be on shelves by the holidays.



Among them, according to tech business blog VentureBeat, will be a series of netbooks by Acer running Google’s Chrome OS.
