Hewlett Packard’s Shopping Village subidiary debuted Wednesday and announced that it entered into a two-year co-marketing agreement with online software retailer Beyond.com.
HP Shopping Village is Hewlett Packard’s new e-commerce area, which offers customers HP computer hardware and with Wedenesday’s agreement, software from Beyond.com. Beyond.com’s software inventory features an estimated 48,000 titles.
Under terms of the agreement, Beyond.com and HP will co-market complementary products on their respective sites. Shopping Village customers can browse HP product categories including PCs, printers, scanners, handheld PCs, accessories and printing supplies. Rare items and refurbished products also are available, HP said.
“This is our first significant strategic alliance,” said Shen Li, general manager of HP Shopping Village. “It’s a customer driven deal that leverages the strengths of two leaders in the Internet e-commerce arena to offer a complete hardware and software solution to our respective customers.”
