iMedium Launches New Embedded E-Commerce Products

Jan 7, 2000

iMedium delivered two new products built
upon its See!Commerce technology platform., which allows Internet viewers or
customers to shop by clicking on an image.

The new products are See!Catalog and See!Mail. Both are direct response
applications that allow merchants and retailers to offer their customers an
interactive shopping experience based upon scenes, photos or pictures that
contain embedded, contextual advertising and merchandising links.

Thus a virtual, picture-based catalog can be distributed either via HTML
e-mail or across
different sites on the Web.

“By featuring their products in context in our Visual Buying Environment, our
customers are experiencing very high click-through rates directly to a
point of purchase in their on-line stores,” said Brian Dooner, founder and
president of iMedium.

“The combination of See!Commerce technology and our
partners visual content is converting otherwise passive viewers or browsers
into buyers.”

The See!Catalog technology allows the assembly of portable, interactive
virtual catalogs, targeted at specific viewers, sites or promotions. See!Mail
combines the power of the See!Commerce technology platform with outbound,
permission-based HTML e-mail.

iMedium is backed primarily by Safeguard Scientifics, an Internet-centric
holding company with a focus on e-commerce, e-communications and e-business
services, and by TL Ventures, a venture capital firm.
