Computer direct marketer Insight, a subsidiary of Insight Enterprises Inc. in Tempe, AZ, said it will launch an electronic sales and marketing campaign with Compaq Computer Corp.

The new program is designed to increase Insight’s sales of Compaq products to
small- and medium-sized businesses. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.

The marketing program includes an Insight “hotline” where customers can call
directly to get Compaq product information, availability and place orders with
Insight’s trained account executives. Customers can call the Insight Hotline
at 800/359-1588.

The campaign also includes an Insight-Compaq Web site located at compaq.insight.com where customers will
have direct access to Compaq product information, real time availability and
the ability to place orders using Insight’s secure transaction system. A
special outbound telemarketing team will be focused on selling Compaq product
into the small- and medium-sized business marketplace.

“Business customers who state brand preference consistently request Compaq as
a brand of choice,” said Insight President Tim Crown. “Insight is focused on
the small- to medium-sized business customer as our primary target market. We
are pleased that through this new relationship we will be able to increase
market share for Compaq Server, Desktop PC’s, Notebook computers and options
in this segment for both Insight and Compaq.”

Insight is a direct marketer of computers, hardware and software, primarily to
businesses in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Products are
sold by a staff of customer dedicated account executives through outbound
telesales and via the Internet.
