AmericasBaby.com Inc., parent company of BabyFurniture.com and BabyGifts.com, said it has received more
than $9 million in first-round funding from private investors.

Also, the company named Preston Bealle as president and CEO.

He had been
president and CEO of Jumbo Inc., an entertainment and shareware
site, until it was sold to Mecklermedia, now internet.com.

Before that he was director
of online advertising for Poppe Tyson, which later merged with Modem Media.

Marvin Azrak, executive vice president of AmericasBaby.com, said that Bealle
has the support of the company’s primary investors and that his appointment
was
instrumental in obtaining more than $9 million in an initial round of private
funding.

Funding details were not disclosed.

AmericasBaby.com Inc. is an Internet-based retailer of baby furniture and
baby gifts that maintains more than 1,700 SKUs including brands such as
Graco, Cosco, Combi and Evenflo.

BabyFurniture.com claims two million monthly
page views
