Leisure Planet said it will soon provide travelers worldwide with expanded online travel booking capabilities.

The international travel information and technology company, headquartered in
Cape Town, South Africa, and also operating out of Belgium, said it has almost completed the integration of a customized WORLDSPAN Internet Booking Engine (IBE) into its travel Web site. Online air, hotel and rental car reservations capabilities will be introduced on www.leisureplanet.com in the near future.

The site will feature WORLDSPAN Power Shopper, which facilitates pricing and
booking airline itineraries. Financial terms of the arrangement were not
disclosed.

Leisure Planet’s core business is as a content and technology supplier to the
online travel industry. Since its inception in 1992, it has built an image-
rich electronic database of standardized hotel information, and offers a
variety of online travel guides.

“One of Leisure Planet’s goals is to distribute our content to a truly global
marketplace, offering Internet users all the possible options they need to
plan and purchase their travel,” said Pierre Kleinhans, founder and business
development director for Leisure Planet. “We believe our strategic booking
engine from WORLDSPAN is the key to the successful attainment of this
objective.”

Atlanta-based WORLDSPAN is a computer reservations
system company that services nearly 18,000 travel agency locations in more
than 45 countries. It has an agreement with Microsoft to supply transaction
processing services and a database of airline schedules, fares and
availability for Expedia, Microsoft’s consumer travel booking system.
