Lycos, Inc. and The Electronic Newsstand, Inc. announced today the companies have entered into a three-year, $10.5 million electronic commerce partnership.

Under the agreement, Electronic Newsstand becomes the exclusive magazine retailer on Lycos, and will provide Lycos with guaranteed base payments totaling $10.5 million dollars.

A co-branded site residing within the Lycos Shopping Network will allow users to access Electronic Newsstand’s online ordering features via key topic-related points.

The Electronic Newsstand is an online media company that sells discount magazine subscriptions directly to users via its www.enews.com site. The company claims to deliver the largest selection of magazine resources on the Web.

“Partnerships like this, where we can serve online users based on particular interests, are extremely exciting and valuable for us,” said Brian Hecht, president and CEO of The Electronic Newsstand, Inc. “This alliance also represents a strategic partnership key to our growth which goes far beyond banner advertising.”
