In a match that would seem made in heaven for companies serving the
frequent-mover market of government and military families, the MyGovClub.com marketplace formed an
alliance with HomeFair.com, part of real estate network
Homestore.com.
Military members and their families are a transient community, as are many
federal government employees, often required to relocate and sometimes with
short notice.
MyGovClub.com, operated by Digital Commerce Corp., will offer
all of HomeFair.com’s online resources for movers.
As a provider of interactive relocation, community and school information, Homestore.com’s HomeFair.com provides
home and real estate information to millions of consumers each month as part
of their relocation process.
Financial arrangements between the companies were not disclosed.
“The partnership with HomeFair.com supports our continued effort to meet this
community’s relocation needs with the necessary tools and resources online,”
said Tony Bansal, president and chief executive officer of Digital Commerce.
Homestore.com’s Move Tab, powered by HomeFair.com, provides tools to assist
in relocating, including a Moving Calculator to help estimate the cost of
shipping household goods, school district reports, a Military Friendly
Relocation Wizard that creates a custom timeline to help cope with all the
details of relocating, a
Community Calculator to locate desirable neighborhoods, and access to
selections of new and existing homes for sale.
MyGovClub.com offers shopping, free e-mail, message boards, calendaring
programs and other benefits for its members.
Homestore.com Inc.’s family of Web sites includes the Homestore.com,
Realtor.com,
HomeBuilder.com, SpringStreet.com, Remodel.com and HomeFair.com.
